Holiday Season In Review

We had an EXCELLENT month and here are the pictures to prove it. Brace yourselves there are A LOT of pictures - it has been VERY busy month.

The first snowman of the season. He is a bit small, but we didn't have a lot of snow to work with.

Christmas isn't Christmas if you don't visit temple square and see the lights. Brrrrr it sure was cold, but totally worth it!





Ashie's Tonsillectomy. He is recovering quit nicely. Although we did have one scary night involving a run to the ER. When Ashie's scabs came off he lost a lot of blood. More blood than any parent would want to see spewing from their child's mouth. In the end we paid $75 for a popsicle. All Ashie needed is more cool drinks/treats to slow the blood flow.

Christmas was spectacular like always! Having kids make Christmas even more magic, I love watching life through their eyes. They didn't even notice that we didn't have power all morning.






Christmas morning with Grandma Honnie and Grandpa Brad. Like always the boys were spoiled by all of their grandparents. I can't blame the grandparents when my boys are so stinking cute!

Recovery

Ashie is such a strong little guy. He doesn't let a "minor" thing like a tonsillectomy bring him down. He has been busy as ever, it could be the pain killers, they seem to have the side-affect of making him very hyper. Hopefully he will be fully recovered by Christmas.

Ginormous Tonsils

This isn't a picture of Ashie's tonsils, but it gives you an idea what his poor little mouth looks like. Crowded!!! His tonsils are what the doctor calls kissing tonsils (i.e. tonsils that are so large that they touch). I often wonder how the poor kid can swallow with those bad boys in the way.

Tomorrow Ashie's tonsils will be removed. Naph's and I are anxious about sending our baby into surgery, but we know it is best for our little guy. His tonsils make Ashie snore worse than Bampa, he has sleep apnea from time to time, his breath is horrid, no matter how much we brush his teeth, and the poor guy talks like a frog. I know it is his tonsils that causes him to talk that way. Needless to say Naph's and I are glad to see those bad boy tonsils go.

What would you do?

Yesterday while Ashie was hanging out with Glama they made Christmas wish lists and guess what was on the top of his list? A skate board. Ashie actually has been pretty consistent in expressing his wish of getting a skate board. When asked why he wants a skate board he always reply's because that is what the big boy's have. We live in a neighborhood full of big boys that can do cool tricks on skate boards and Ashie loves watching and being with the big boys.

My question to you is what do you do when your child consistently asks for a present you DON'T want to get for them? Do I ignore the request? Do I indulge him in his request? or do I let Santa be the one that disappoints him?

A Word About My Coach

Coach is starting to say a few words, you know words like mom, dad, dog, and apple. But my all time favorite is how he says thank you. In a sweet sing song voice he says tank tu. Adorable! I love you Coach!

He now weighs 28 lbs., which puts him in the 75th percentile for weight.
He is in the 90th percentile for height.

Terrible Two's Nothing

Who ever coined the term "Terrible Two's" hasn't lived with my three year old. I think the three's are far worse than the two's, in fact I don't remember Ashie's two's being bad at all. Ashie now talks back, he screams a lot, and there is a whole lot of whining.

Anyone else find the three's far worse than the two's? Can you give me any hope for the four's?

Spooktacular Halloween

October has been a GREAT month packed full of spooktacular events. Enjoy our pictures!

My next 30 years!

My first 30 years have been FANTASTIC! I had a WONDERFUL childhood, the teenage years were GREAT, and my twenty's were AMAZING! In the twenty's I meet and married Naph's, I graduated from college with a bachelors degree and then a masters degree. A month after graduating with my master's I gave birth to Ashie and 21 month's later Coach joined the family. Becoming a wife and then a mother are the GREATEST accomplishments in my life. Seriously, Naph's, Ashie, and Coach bring me so much joy and happiness each and every day. Whoops I almost forgot Mazie, she has been in the family for 8 years now and this family wouldn't be complete without her.

For my next 30 years I hope to add one maybe two children to the family(note: we are not expecting any new additions to the family any time soon). I am looking forward to another 30 years of marriage to the best husband EVER, I am also looking forward to watching my children grow, learn, and just experience life. I am excited to be there with them every step of the way. For my next 30 years I hope to become a better, daughter, sister, friend, mother, and wife. I also want to become more physically active, i.e. cycling is my new thing and hopefully this year I will compete in a 100 mile bike ride. In my next 30 years I imagine there are more marathons in my future. I also imagine there is more school in my future. Maybe another masters degree, but this time it will be in bereavement counseling. Hmmm, I am excited for my next 30 years!

I can't end this post without sending a shout out to Cyncha on this our special day. HAPPY BIRTHDAY CYNCHA - I love being your twin! I hope that our next 30 years bring both of us much happiness and love!

What is a mom to do?

How could I deny him wearing his tie when he found it and excitedly asked me to put it on him. Because he is so stinking cute and because his hair was styled and looking good, I knew he could get away with this look.
