Ending 2007 with a bang....literally!!!

Yup, we spent the evening at the ER last night because Ashie banged his head so hard on Glama's coffee table he ended up needing 4 stitches. Through our ER experience we learned that doctors like well dressed little kids; we were taken care of speedily and I accredit it to Ashie looking styling in his Kenneth Cole sweater vest and dress slacks. Surprisingly enough he didn't get any blood on his clothes. In reality we were probably taken care of fast because Ashie is a 2 year old and doesn't have much patience. We did however get lots of comments on Ashie's great outfit! We also learned that Ashie has amazing lung capacity; seriously, we are pretty sure he cleared out the ER waiting room with his screaming. We also learned that Ashie is surprisingly strong; Naph's and the male nurse both broke out in a sweat holding little Ashie down for the stitches.

Apparently head wounds via coffee tables are common at the ER; we didn't even have to tell the intake girl what happened to Ashie, she straight up guessed. For that matter anyone who saw Ashie at the ER said, "let me guess he had a run in with a coffee table".

Our tip to you in 2008 is WATCH-OUT for those coffee tables they are DANGEROUS!

The Grinches who cleaned up Christmas

After having Christmas decorations up for over a month Naphurs and I packed them all up last night. I just have to say that it was a lot easier to take down Christmas than put it up.

It took Ashie a week to realize that we put away the halloween decorations, I wonder how long it will take him to notice that our two Christmas trees and all of the other decorations are down. Ashie really did enjoy the decorations so I hope he doesn't over react when he realizes they are gone.

In the place of one of the Christmas trees we set-up Ashie's train set. He noticed the trains first thing this morning, which distracted him from the missing decorations.

Christmas Pictures

A MERRY Christmas was had by all

Our Christmas was WONDERFUL! The whole month was just perfect; we spent the month learning/teaching Ashie about Jesus and his birth. Ashie at least knows that there is a baby Jesus. The week leading up to Christmas we spent lots of quality time with family. Ah what a wonderful time of the year!

Christmas Eve was spent with my family the Phrogbottoms. Mom made her traditional chicken cacciatore and home made bread sticks, which were delicious. After dinner we spent our time reminiscing and exchanging gifts with each other. Ah good times!

Later that night Santa dropped by with plenty of gifts for the boys. Ashie was very pleased with all of the gifts he received plus all of brothers. Actually he plays with his brothers toys more than his own.

After enjoying our Christmas spoils we headed out the door to grandma C's for breakfast and more presents. Ashie got a scooter and he was delighted, he also very much enjoys his brothers Sesame Street car garage. Then grandpa B came over and gave the boys even more presents. Ashie got a motorized dump truck and Coach got a train ball popper, again Ashie enjoyed his brothers present more. After all the fun at Grandma C's we headed over to Great Grandma L's house for lunch and more family time. Christmas dinner was at the M Clan's house; mmm Christmas ham and funeral potatoes - delicious! We also had a good time playing with their new DDR and singing along to their pop star game. After all the fun we headed home to play with all our toys.

I hope everyone else had a very MERRY Christmas!

Happy 27th (wink) Birthday my hot hubby!

It's Naphurs birthday today so I thought I would write a public blog about my wonderful hubby!

Naphurs is the best father and husband; he is very involved in our lives and loves to spend time with us! Even if we tend to be grumpy some days.

I started dating Naphurs when I was 19 years old. As a 19 year old I wasn't ready to settle down and date one person seriously, let alone get married. During our 4 years of dating - that is right I said 4 years! Naphurs stuck it through a lot. He knew that at least and I am saying at the very least I would break-up with him twice a year (typically around general conference). He even proposed to me a second time after I denied him once. Thanks sweetie for sticking around and putting up with an immature 19 to 23 year old me.

After we were married Naphurs wanted to share the world with me. For our honeymoon we went to Paris and every year after that we would visit another country and at least one major city in the United States. We've been to London, Rome, Hawaii, D.C., Seattle, Boston, Orlando, San Diego, San Francisco, Arizona, and Vegas. Ah good times! Our traveling has slowed down since we've bought the house and had the kids, but I am pretty sure we will pick it up again when we can.

Naphurs loves his little boys. I think he really enjoys seeing two little guys that look just like him. He loves to wrestle with his boys, read stories to his boys, and just hang with his boys! He also is a good daddy to Mazie his puppy dog. He is the one who bathes and brushes her beautiful hair. THANKS DADDY - WE LOVE YOU!

Naphurs is a very thoughtful husband; he takes care of me when I am sick, he loves to tell me I am beautiful, and he always does more then his share of the house work. I LOVE YOU BABES, YOU ARE THE BEST!

Look what I got in the mail today

So in the mail today I got my annual Christmas card from my OBGYN's office. I couldn't wait to see what the card looked like this year. Last years card had a picture of the two male doctors in the office dressed exactly the same and their nurses dressed in the same color outfits, but not exactly the same. Well whenever anyone saw the card they thought the two males being dressed the same meant they were gay lovers and the girls were their daughters. To be honest, I would have thought the same thing had it not been my doctor. Well I posted this years card below and I can't tell if this card is funny or creepy; I am leaning more towards creepy. You tell me?

Mazie The Family Dawg

WE LOVE OUR MAZIE DAWG AND ARE GLAD THAT SHE IS PART OF OUR FAMILY. As you can tell from the pictures Mazie enjoys being a member of our family as well. Especially when her little brothers give her table scraps. Delicious!

Our Ginger Bread House

Christmas isn't Christmas until you decorate a ginger bread house. Nate did most of the work - the architect in him had a blast putting our little house together. Ashie's favorite part in building the ginger bread house was taste testing and of course I loved documenting the whole event by taking pictures.

Crimson Blood Runs Deep

Yesterday we went to the UofU Bookstore and bought the boys some Ute attire, when we got home Ashie pulled out Coach's new shirt and said "brother's Utah man sir - cute!" Like any good Ute family we have been teaching Ashie the Utah fight song, so now whenever he sees anything with the UofU logo on it he calls it "Utah man sir". It doesn't matter if the Ute logo is the drum and feather or if he sees just University of Utah written out Ashie knows that it is "Utah man sir".

GO UTES!

New page element

I've decided to add a new page element, it is entitled "Ashie Quotes". Since Ashie has started to use full sentences I thought I would post my favorite things he says. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Happy 30th Birthday to Me!!!!!!

Wait a second didn't I just have my 29th birthday in October? I did, but I have to plan my 30th birthday present way far in advance. Yup, my 30th birthday present to me is to run a marathon. Go Me! I am serious about this one and I need all the help I can get. Send encouragement and lots of it! The goal is the Salt Lake Marathon on April 19, which means I have 5 months to train. April 19th also happens to be the day before Coach's first birthday. Yes, that means I ran a marathon before my baby turns one! Seriously, go me!

In order to run this marathon I have to be accountable to someone or a whole lot of someone's. This means my blog may become a narrative of my training. Sorry in advance, but stick with me. This is where the encouragement comes in - I am accountable to you my blogging public. Thanks in advance because when I do run this marathon it will be the best present in the whole world and just think you can be contributors to my success. Go us!

As a special feature to my blog I've added a marathon countdown. Check it out, it is on the right-hand side of the page under all of our cute family pictures.

Mouse in the house?

When big bites are taken out of your BIG block of cheese it makes you wonder if there is a mouse in the house?

Nope - it's just Ashie! I turned my back on him for a second to get a knife to cut the cheese, I guess he couldn't wait that long and helped himself to a couple yummy bites.

Cheese anyone?

Fall fun!

Things to do in the fall before it becomes too cold.

Seriously the weather has been perfect and we have been having a lot of fun. Even cleaning the windows was fun. Well at least the results were totally worth it. You all will be envious of my clean windows when you spend the winter looking out your filthy windows.

Comparison Pictures

For fun I thought I would post comparison pictures of the boys. The pictures are of the boys at roughly 6 months old. Can you tell them apart? I can, but I am wondering if it is because I am there mother. You be the judge.

I am finally posting Coaches six month stats, now that he is seven months old. To make it more interesting I thought I would post Ashies six months stats for comparison

Head Circ: 17.1"

Ashie Six Months
Height: 27.6"

A Spooktacular Halloween

Ashie Actually liked his costume That is until he got hurt. Have you ever seen Superman cry before?
Oh good he is back to liking his costume againCoach was the cutest skunk in town. I can say that because Tadpool Toad lives in Boston!

The boys posed together for a picture. I assure you, Coach is having fun.
More cute posing on Coaches part.look at that cute backside!

With this haul Ashie will be eating candy for weeks.
Even Mazie dressed up for Halloween.
Naphurs spent a lot of time making our house "spooky". He even dressed up as a zoombie to scare our little trick or treaters.
