Lesson Learned

The other day Ash and I were out for a bike ride. On our ride Ash asked if we could stop at the park for a minute, I obliged. While at the park I noticed some empty soda cans on the ground. I thought to myself that this would be a good opportunity to teach Ash about civic pride and picking up litter. I asked Ash to grab a can while I grabbed the other. We walked both cans to the garbage and tossed them away. While at the garbage can I noticed two signs hanging on a post. I thought to myself, taking the civic pride one step further, that I would take down the signs. Geese I am such a good mother teaching my kid a valuable life lesson. Well, one of the signs happened to be a lost dog poster and Ash protested by saying mom that is someone's dog how could you throw their poster away. I came up with the lame excuse that there are plenty other signs around the neighborhood for others to see. We rode on and I didn't think of that incident again. Until two days later when we were driving home from Glama's house and Ash say's out of the blue, "Mom how would you like it if Mazie was lost and we hung up posters and someone took them down? I can't believe you did that to someone else's dog!" Zing that hurt, I suck! Naphs was confused so I told him the story from a couple day's earlier, to which Naphs say's " I would have just told Ash that the family had found the dog and it is ok to take down the sign." Instantly I turned around and told Ash just that. And that was the end of it.
