Craft Day

Ashie and I spent the morning painting and putting together a garage/parking lot for Ashie's cars. Who knew that homemade toys could be so fun!

Ashie is our little energizer bunny that keeps going and going and going. That is why it totally shocked us when he fell asleep on his chair last night while we were eating dinner. He must of had a super fun/super busy day at the babysitters.

And I thought I could trust Ashie with markers. I guess those days are over now that he discovered coloring on himself is fun!

Random Thoughts

Here are a few of the random thoughts that came into my head while running the BIG 13 yesterday.

Who came up with the idea of running a marathon? And who decided that running a continuous 26.5 miles is okay for the human body? Who is crazy enough to run multiple marathons? AND WHAT ON EARTH IS COMPELLING ME TO RUN THIS MARATHON?

Go Utes!




This is us at the U gymnastics meet, we sure did enjoy ourselves! Well all except Coach he wanted to crawl around on the dirty arena floor and mean mom wouldn't let him. Needless to say we only lasted one rotation at the meet. Ashie was sorely disappointed when we left, he actually wanted to stay and watch. When we were leaving the Huntsman Center he started to cry and told his dad that he wanted to stay with the Utes. That's our boy. Go Utes!

When I put Ashie down to bed tonight he insisted that I sing him the Utah man sir song multiple times. Doesn't get any better than that! Go Utes!

Spring Happiness!

For Valentines my sweet boys gave me long life tulips that you get to watch grow and enjoy for weeks. I love these tulips because they bring life into the house at the end of a looooong winter. If you are interested in getting your own you can pick them up at your nearest Costco. Otherwise just enjoy watching mine grow. I will be posting their progress on the sidebar of my blog. Enjoy!

Costco brought me more spring happiness this week because it is strawberry season and they are selling BIG RED DELICIOUS STRAWBERRIES! I love strawberries! The strawberries are kind of expensive, but totally worth it after a looooong winter of eating apples, bananas, and oranges.

10 Miles Baby!


Count them 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10! That's right I ran 10 miles today and am so stinking proud of myself! I've been afraid to take the plunge and run a 10 mile stretch, but now that is done it wasn't that bad! Of course the run was made a lot easier by the wonderful new shoes and the Ipod/Nike mileage tracker that my sweet Valentine got me (thank-you Naphurs). Yes, when you have proper equipment the run is a lot easier. Next week I am going to conquer the big 13. Yikes!

Here Comes Trouble.....

Just because he can crawl what gives him the right to climb stairs? Seriously, who gave my boy permission to grow-up so fast?
Coach did have some encouragement. Naughty dad, Grandma C, and Ashie!

Ok, so maybe I joined in on the fun! Mom's usually are their kids best cheerleader.
I love you COACH and I hope you know I will be there every stair, every crawl, and every step of the way, even if it means you are growing up so fast!

WHAT! 45 degrees, who needs a coat?


Who knew that 45 degree weather could be so lovely? Seriously, it is so nice out today, the sun is shining and the wind isn't blowing. It is funny how your perspective changes with the weather. If it were fall/early winter and 45 degrees outside I would be moaning how cold it was. Not today my friends after a long snowy very COLD winter this 45 degree stuff is so lovely! I hope it only gets better from here on out!

My Adorable Nephew!



My twin sister Cyncha had her baby on Monday. Davis James was born at about 8:00 p.m. weighing in at 6.3 lbs he is a little guy, but he is not short on looks!

Cyncha and Shane we are so happy for you! Give little Davis lots of love from us until we can meet him in person.

Saying Goodbye!





Since we couldn't get out of the house to go to President Hinckley's viewing we thought we would stand on South Temple and watch the funeral cortege go by. I thought it was amazing! There were tons of people out on the street either waving a cane or a white hanky, we just waved. It was nice because President's Hinckley's children actually waved and smiled back at us. It was really sweet.

On a positive note!


I've been a little negative lately so I thought I would end the week on a positive note. Yesterday we took Ashie in to the doctor because he spiked another fever. The poor little guy has an ear infection. You may ask what is so positive about an ear infection? Well it's all how you look at it - I am thankful for an ear infection because he is now on antibiotics, which means any other nasty bugs in Ashie's system will now be killed off. Ashie has only been taking the antibiotics for 24 hrs. now and you wouldn't believe how good his chickenpox are looking. I know, I know, antibiotics don't get rid of chickenpox; they do however get rid of skin infections forming in chickenpox.

So for today I am thankful........

For ANTIBIOTICS!

For a sweet husband who brought tulips home to brighten my day! Thanks my love!

For a friend who called last night to invite me to go running on an indoor track! Thanks Amanda!

For another friend who stopped by today to bring Ashie a get-well package! Thanks Brynn!
