This year for my birthday I was regretting the fact that we hadn't gone to the beach enough. So the Saturday before my birthday we packed up the family and all of our beach gear and headed to the beach. Oh yeah that is why we don't go to the beach a lot, as it is a lot of work. Whew! Who would have ever thought that I would be hanging out on the beach with 5 boys on my 36 birthday. I am so very blessed.

18 Months Photo Shoot
Nate laughs at me every time I cram T-Lex into the back of this dump truck because he can just picture the day I try cramming my scantly clad 18 year old T-Lex in it. Ha!Ha! Who knows I may just try it. For now I will continue taking this picture until he no longer allows me to.
I sure do love my happy boy! His soul oozes happiness.

Chores
Chores are a serious business around here. No exempt not even ninjas or little babies. Their future wives will thank me, as good husbands know how to clean.

We Survived Bear Hill
This is us after we survived Bear Hill. We were excited that we all made it out alive. You see we ran into a bear an actual real live bear on the trail and we lived to tell about it.
My picture isn't great because I snapped it as we quickly rushed by the bear, but you can see him between the two trees. See his little head poking up there? We had stopped to get a drink and all of a sudden Nate's eyes got real big and he said behind you to me. No joke I turn around to see a bear in a tree ten feet behind me. Wahoo! I have always wanted to see a bear in his natural habitat. But when you actually do and that bear is right there with all your little ones it is a scary situation. We all backed away to try and figure out what we should do to make it past the bear. The trail we normally take to get out of the forest was closed so our only other option was to make the three mile hike back to where we had came from. Yeah, that wasn't happening with our young, tired, and hungry crew. So we decided to say a prayer and sneak ever so quietly past the bear. I said the prayer for safety and with a lot of faith in our hearts we picked up the two littlest ones and crept past the bear. Whew. We made it safely but I tell you the rest of the hike down was nerve wrecking as we were afraid we might experience another bear encounter. I had to give the kids suckers to calm their nerves and sing church songs to calm mine.

Labor Day Weekend With Grandpa Brad and Grandma Marilee
We were lucky enough to have Grandpa Brad, Grandma Maralee, and Alisha come out and visit us over Labor Day. They wanted a tour of some of our favorite places Yosemite and the Sequoias.
This trip did not disappoint!
We love spending time with our family. Especially showing them some of our favorite places in California.

When the big boys are away the little boys play
The older boys are back in school. That doesn't mean we can't have fun when they are not around. Scooby loves to go to the skate park and ride his bike. This time he actually went in character. I love how much he loves to play dress-up. Such a cutie!
Morning walks at the Prime Desert Preserve
Painting time
Pudding cups
sink bathes
licking the beater
and playing in the rain are some of the ways we roll when our brothers are not around.
